Timeline Views — Gantt, Board, Calendar, Grid, Resource
How to switch between views and when to use each one.
Switching views
Use the view tabs in the timeline editor to switch between Gantt, Grid, Line, Board, Calendar, Dashboard, Canvas, and Resources. Each view reads the same project data, so switching views does not lose changes.
Gantt View (default)
The horizontal timeline with task bars, milestones, and dependency arrows. Best for: overall project overview, identifying bottlenecks, presenting to stakeholders.
Features: drag to resize tasks, click to edit, zoom in/out (day/week/month/quarter/year), today marker, critical path highlighting, baseline comparison.
Board View
Kanban-style columns organized by task status. Drag tasks between columns to update their status. Best for: daily standups, agile workflows, quick status updates.
Calendar View
Tasks and milestones displayed on a monthly calendar grid. Best for: deadline tracking, resource scheduling, spotting date conflicts.
Grid View
All tasks in a sortable, filterable table. Columns: name, start date, end date, duration, priority, assignee, progress. Best for: bulk editing, data review, exporting. Keyboard shortcut: press G from any view.
Resource View
Swimlanes organized by team member instead of category. See each person's workload across the timeline. Best for: resource allocation, spotting overloaded team members.
